Weekly Newletter, May 5

Well folks, Joe Buck here, ready to break down the action from the Field of Dreams fantasy baseball league. It's been a wild ride, and some teams are clearly riding high while others…well, let’s just say they're hoping for a miracle.

Let's start with the Snowmobiling Maniacs. At 96.5 fantasy points, they're really showing some serious speed on the ice, I mean, the field. Their power numbers – runs, homers, and RBIs – are a sight to behold. But they need to hit the brakes (or maybe find some better pitchers) because their Wins Plus Quality Starts is a bit of a bumpy ride.

Next up, Screw the Yankees. With 91.5 points, they're putting up a solid fight. Their pitching staff is a real force, excelling in strikeouts, saves, ERA, and WHIP. However, their on-base percentage is a bit of a strikeout, and they, too, need some pitching improvements in Wins Plus Quality Starts.

The Village Idiots, racking up 89 points, are proving that sometimes, being an idiot pays off. Their pitching stats – strikeouts, saves, ERA, and WHIP – are looking strong. But their power numbers, particularly home runs and RBIs, need a serious injection of common sense, or, you know, some more runs. And Wins Plus Quality Starts is, sadly, more of a village idiot performance.

Kirby your enthusiasm sits at 79 points. The team's home run numbers and pitching look quite impressive. But much like Kirby's enthusiasm, their on-base percentage and Wins Plus Quality Starts need a boost. Perhaps they need to find more enthusiasm on the field!

The Purple Shirts, with 73.5 points, are certainly making a statement in runs scored and home runs. Their on-base percentage is nothing to scoff at, but they need a little extra help in RBIs, stolen bases, saves, and Wins Plus Quality Starts. They may have the right color for the team, but their performance is a bit lackluster.

Truth is a Person, clocking in at 70 points. This team is doing well with runs scored and stolen bases and has some solid saves, but needs more strikeouts. In the words of the team name, the truth might be that they need to improve in Wins Plus Quality Starts.

Wally's Monstahs, at a slightly disappointing 59.5 points, have a surprisingly strong on-base percentage. But the rest of their game needs a serious monster upgrade, especially in home runs and pitching categories.

The Listol Brollygaggers, 58.5 points, are really struggling across the board, needing some significant improvements across the board in pitching and strikeouts. Their name says it all – this team is a bit of a brollygag.

Cuban Cigars have smoked themselves into a tough spot with 52.5 points. Their on-base percentage is a highlight, but the rest is… well, let's just say it needs some serious relighting. Their pitching is a major area for improvement.

The Georgia Peaches, at 51 points, are showing some potential with their RBIs, but unfortunately, every other category needs some serious ripening.

Murphys Law?, scoring only 41 points, highlights the unfortunate nature of the game. Across the board, this team faces a monumental task to turn their luck around.

And finally, Ant Man, at a minuscule 18 points, is smaller than ever imagined. They need a serious improvement across the board. They are way behind in scoring, and pitching is equally rough.

In conclusion, folks, some teams are showing some serious power while others need a serious wake-up call. It’s been a wild ride, and we’ll see how it all plays out. Remember, it’s just a game, unless you’re in a money league - in that case, call me!
